Tell me how you feel ?? Talk to me ?? I don't know if I have bipolar. I am on medication for depression 45mg martizpine but I don't think it's working. It's making me worse. I feel all day every day. Mentally physically sometimes I have a burst of engery or happy thoughts but these last for moments sometimes hours and back to my horrible state

Hi Amanda! I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 21. I am now 38. The best way to cope is to avoid telling other people about it, unless it is absolutely necessary.

Coping mechanisms are very personal to anindividual, but music is a wonderful therapy. It allows you to block out negative thoughts and to embrace positive ones. I always carry an iPod around wherever I go. Maintaining a sense of humour is also vitally important. I joined a bipolar meeting group through mind mental health charity. It was really incredibly helpful to be able to meet with other people who understand. Also, bipolar people are usually very fun to be with and also quite caring and understanding. They can also be arty and creative types. What I would say is that it isn't the end of the world, although it might seem that way. It is an adjustment, but as long as you have the right kind of support and find the meds that suit you, you'll be fine xxxx

Hi Livvy , My name is Silky I am from India . my fathers been diagnosed of bipolar two years ago when he was almost suicidal and the doctor says it's gone u detected from around 20 years. My dad was living in with his girlfriend froM around 15 years who was a total hypocrite and I think she's has all symptoms of a sociopath , I see no real emotions or empathy in her . So around two years ago during his worst depression he was all alone and we came into the picture and moved in to take care and have tried our best to handle his business and make him feel he has family support .unfortunately In India ESP in smaller cities there's lack of good mental health support , somehow we have found a psychiatrist but no counsellor . He's just taking Meds , he went into two small bouts of mania n tried to take finances n business in control n people immediately again took advantage, the doc In order to control the growing manic stage gave some medicines and he has been feeling utterly depressed and hopeless again . It's very difficult plus there's no counsellor around . Have you gone through this ? Any tips ?
