Does anyone else have a big sensitivity to noise? My neighbours thump up and down the stairs and it makes my stomach go tight. I feel really anxious anticipating when they will be back, the next bang etc. I can sometimes hear their children scream too. My boyfriend can just tune it out. I actually dread coming home to it.

Sensitive to noise?
When you have anxiety your senses become heightened. Everything becomes louder, brighter, everything smells bad. Its normal. Just maybe try listen to music or watching tv to take your mind off it.
Not necessarily all the time. But yes. I find the more intense the majority of my symptoms are, the more sensitive i am to noise, in particular people's voices in the office for example. Feels like its inside my heal. I'm incapable of doing anything when i feel like that. Feels like claustrophobia and like everything is moving really slowly...
I have the same problem. My neighbours are noisy, & the block of flats that I live in is poorly insulated, meaning that sound travels.
Yes, I startle very easily and I love the quiet. My apartment is right at the top of the stairs and people just stomp and run up and down them with no regards to us. But I have kind of gotten use to it as far as it making me really anxious after 10 years. When I do get anxious from it, it passes pretty quick. Although late at night its another story because everytime I hear someone on the stairs I think its my drunk brother and my stomach drops and anxiety sets in. Eek I hate the stairs lol
