Go to the doctor immediately, get a some sedatives to take the edge off then get into a treatment program, CBT, Mindfulness and meditation. The problem is we have thought this way for years and when we think negative things our bodies believe it to be true despite reality and we have the physical reaction of stress response. I get it so bad I dry heave and the get sick...

But it will pass, it always passes and you will be fine again.

Hi Lucy-loo

I am afraid I do not have any advice for your fear of death but would like to tell you I share it.It is a fear of not existing anymore and no-one can really understand how terrifying it is unless they suffer from it.I have many symptoms of different illnesses, especially chest pains, arm aches and other cardiac symptoms. I worry continually about symptoms and seek constant reassurance which as you probably know does not last.

As I say I can only say that I do know how dreadful it is because it is one phobia that cannot be resolved. At the moment I have an ache in my arm and am worrying myself sick in case it is a heart attack. You are not alone with your fear as I am sure it cannot be just us two who suffer from this.

Yes it is a terrifying feeling, do you watch what you eat and exercise a lot hoping to keep your heart healthy. I have same feelings as you and I go back again to see my doctor tomorrow.

Go back to your gp and talk through your symptoms. I feel the same as you every day, but I try not to think about it too much! otherwise I get a panic attack. I had a near death experience 10 years ago and its a bright white light at the end of the day. I try to keep busy and active otherwise my mind goes in an overdrive. LizM40

I have been back today to doctors gave me more tablets. He said he can only deal with rhe physical side of things So now I am starting with C B T. I have got a few books that may be helpfull by Claire Weeks, Self Help For Your Nerves and others.

If u read my old posts and the answers some lovely people left, you may benefit from it!

I've had the same thing for just under a year now and I would say I'm 80% better due to realising that its all in my mind. It is hard but it's the only answer really. Now when I get those feelings I reassure myself that they're no different than all the other times I felt the same thing and calm myself down. Reading books on this illness is a great help (I even bought a worry box off anxiety UK which was quite helpful).

Go to your docs and ask for counciling and/or CBT it helped me cope, as I didn't want to take medication.

Hope this helps

All the best x
