Hi bucs42 and Welcome to a caring community.

Of course your doctor is always the best one to ask regarding your medications.

I will say that your body will go through some changes/symptoms at the start

of trying a medication. It usually takes from 4-6 weeks for our brain to adapt

to the chemical changes, producing a feeling of relief.

Depending on the dose your doctor prescribed as well as how long you were on it,

can give you the side effects you are feeling. What does your doctor say? :) xx

she just stopped my fluoxetine 10 after 4 weeks, splitting headaches, head pressure and light sensitivity, on day 4 of not taking and feel like crap still

I'm sorry bucs42, but it makes a lot of sense . 4 weeks was just about changing your

chemistry and all of a sudden, it's pulled off. See if she can give you something to tide

you over until the symptoms subside or lower in intensity. I so understand in what

a horrible feeling that can be. Keep us updated in what she says or does to help you

through this difficult time. I Care :) xx

Hi Bucs, I am sorry to hear this. Stopping antidepressants is hard but the best way to do it is to wean off of it. Did the doctor put you on that schedule? Are they replacing it with another med? Recently, I was in a hurry to stop one of my meds so I tried to speed up the process - I felt so terrible! I sincerely hope that you feel better very soon.

My experience with SSRIs is to start with lowest dose they make and gradually go from there. Stopping is same theory in reverse. If you've tried paxil and prozac, you might try Celexa at 10 mg for a month to six weeks. Talk to doc, you may be able to start now, it had less side effects for me. Good luck

I was on Pristiq for 4 months and it made my symptoms worse. I just finished weaning off on Tuesday. I too have been having head pain and pressure along with dizziness and light headedness. On and off during the day so it’s not to terrible.
