Watching the ceremonies at Normandy it's been a reminder how much we owe to the brave armed forces all those years ago, some of those brave men who died were only 17 years old, absolutely heartbreaking. I find it very emotional.😪

God bless you Roddy for remembering the sacrifices made by the young men who gave up there lives for our freedom. I had a great uncle who was 17 and he was killed while storming the beach at Normandy. I remember as a kid my family talking about him. It was so sad. So how are you doing. I hope all is well. I completely agree secrets. We all owe them a huge debt of honour for their sacrifices so we could be free.

My mother joined the RAF in 1944 and was being trained in how to land planes by hand. She worked at the same base as Douglas Bader but said he was a horrible man who hated women especially lol.
Gosh your Mother must have been a much respected lady, and it doesn't surprise me about Bader.
Well she did her bit for her country. So did my father. He worked for his father who had his own nursery business but during wartime grew food instead so he was exempt.
I expect most of us have parents/grandparents who fought for our country. I salute all of them.
