I do not sleep well at all and haven't for as long as I can remember. While I am accustomed to sleepless nights, it makes the sleeping hours seem so long and lonely.

Hi Puzzler1501, what is it about the quiet of the night when it seems everyone is sleeping

but you? This no longer happens to me. I found a way to reset my mind and let it know

that the day is over, time to regenerate and quiet down.

For this I use Meditation and Breathing . The bedroom is painted in an ever so pale

green with white trim. The color of the room is important in order to feel that

relaxing sensation. The temperature of the room must be on the cooler side. No tvs

on, no cell phones, no alarm clocks. A clock in the room is disturbing to the quality of

our sleep by looking at it when awake and knowing we only have slept for a short time.

The room should be fairly dark as well. Your mind and your body will adapt to these

changes if they are not already in place.

This becomes my "me time". The day is over. Anything still on my mind can wait

until tomorrow.

As I slip into a comfortable bed and adjust the pillows so that I can literally just

sink into the mattress, I turn on my meditation and start my breathing exercises.

I've been doing this for years and so my subconscious mind is trained to respond to

the positive affirmations and thoughts it hears.

I never get past 5 minutes of listening before I am sound asleep. It is a comforting

and satisfying way to let go of the day's events and go into a deep REM sleep.

This all takes practice but so well worth the effort. :) xx
