Hello everyone! I’m new here and just looking for some ways to cope.

Long story short; I had a VERY complicated pregnancy in which I spent majority of it in the ER or doctors office. I ended up having surgery in order to keep my daughter in longer; it worked to an extent but I ended up going into labor two months early.

I have struggled with health anxiety for almost 2 years now. I’m not sure how to overcome it. I’ve tried many ways. I’m in therapy now, but it’s mainly just a talk session. Night times are the worst because I would have alot of my pregnancy complications at night for some reason.

When something traumatic happens to us, it's not unusual to develop health anxiety.

The subconscious mind doesn't forget that easily and at night continues to replay

the fears and events of the past. Talk therapy can be helpful if it is directed towards

your health fears now. CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) can be implemented in

helping you go towards the future, keeping the past in the past.

I hope your child is well. Your fears of any other health issues may come up because

now you not only have the memory of a bad pregnancy but also the doubts if you will

be able to take care of the child. And...so you wonder about every little pain you experience.

Being put on some medication can help break this cycle while going through therapy.

welcome to the group. It seems health issues are worse at night. For instance a cold or flu. Im sorry about the complications you experienced with your pregnancy. Going through pregnancy complications with my daughter I understand. We are here for you. Just to talk, give suggestions if asked and support. Since we come from all parts of the world, there is usually someone to talk to.
