A misconception

One misconception that I believe exists is that if someone has anxiety or depression, that they are always anxious or depressed. Unfortunately that can lead to people avoiding them.

That has not been my personal experience. Despite having anxiety, there are still moments of calm and peace. Yes they can be randomly interrupted. But I am not constantly in a state of anxiety 24/7.

it comes and goes. I have panic disorder and it was pretty well controlled (10-12years) until this past year…LOTS of changes and mid life really got me in a choke hold for a while… still does on some days. But you are right it doesn’t always continuously annoy me and when it’s peaceful I try to be grateful.

I haven’t had ppl avoid me but I guess that’s cuz I don’t tell many ppl. My family is as supportive as they can be without really grasping what all of it means so that’s a bonus. But I think that’s why I have been reaching out here and looking for ppl that do understand… because that is so soothing to me and makes me feel less alone 😊
