Hello been on floxetine for just 7 days but already know I want to stop them , the side effects are terrible and also heart palpitations and racing heart and not sure if that's a side effect, would anyone know if ok just to stop them after 7 days 20mg I'm on, been trying all morning to speak to a doctor to ask and rung pharmacy and they couldn't help, never had these sort of medication before but know your not suppose to just stop them but because its just 7 days thought it would be OK but want to make sure. Thank you.

I’m not sure about that particular medications side effects but with most medication there is a period of up to 6 weeks before they start to take affect and the side effects should start to lessen around or before that time. If your doctor has a website you can request an appointment on there and if you identify the issue as mental health problems a doctor should contact you fairly soon. Unfortunately I don’t have any other information regarding this.

Thank you for your reply , I just want to stop taking them as the side effects just after 7 days are terrible and can't put up with them anymore and was just a bit worried if I could stop them as only been 7 days , I know they take a while to work but wish to stop them but wasn't sure if I would get withdrawal symptoms just after a week but I wouldn't have thought so because I haven't been taking them long but wanted to be sure, I will try my doctors again but thank you .

I agree with you, after 7 days you should not get withdrawal symptoms from them but definitely consult with your doctor.

Yes I will been trying to get a phone appointment I did ask the receptionist if she could just pass on my query but they couldn't so will have to keep on trying, thank you.
