Signed up here to get and to give support with depression and anxiety. I’m currently on a downward slope but hoping that I can level off and head back towards the light without going back on the meds. I’ve been unmedicated for about 7 years now - had put on a lot of weight and felt like I had a head full of cotton wool - so I quit.
Hoping that when I start running again the dopamines will work to frighten off my black dog.

I am a firm believer that exercise can help us get our body and mind in better shape. 💪
it is not easy to give a solid advice specially from someone who is here for the same reason. but i cannot help but to say that please have a to do list every night for the fun stuff that you will do next day even if it is as little as watching a game or a comedy show or even cooking or eating a favorite food. Probably go for a spa every month or have a swim at a nearby pool. There are the other stuff that can be done with other people (but I do not trust them :D). but it is inevitable and you will need to go to the store and chat with the cashier or the salesperson about random stuff. take a walk regulariy with your favorite music or podcast on. Finally, watch Stutz on Netflix. Have a good day
I hope your plan works. And applaud you for being off meds for that length of time. I’m stuck on meds for my Major Depressive and Anxiety Disorder. But I need them to give me an even playing field. Without them, my brain chemistry sabotages me and I can’t get out of bed. And am afraid of everything. Welcome to the community.
