Stop clonazepam

Hello I have had general anxeity disorder, social anxiety disorder and obsessive disorder I have been passed through many medication since 2012 and finally l am taking 0.5/1mg of clonazepam; 2 mg of respridone and 40mg of fluoxitine but my psychiatry strongly refuse clonazepam but I could not stop how can I stop p lease share me your idea.

I took clonozepam for 30 years. It’s very difficult to stop. My doc switched my antidepressant to Lexapro and I was finally able to stop it on my own terms. I haven’t had any for a year. It’s difficult and not a comfortable thing to go through. It became more of a psychological addiction as I don’t think it was probably that effective after all those years of use. It IS possible. Better to talk to your doctor about this. Don’t wait 30 yrs like I did. Best wishes to you.

You need to stop the Klonopin, its not good for you. Its going to be hard, and the Ashton Manual is widely available which teaches one about tapering off of benzo-diazapines. you would (hopefully) benefit from finding a doc who can help you come off of them safely.

See, the Benzos actually change the way your brain works, by suppression of the central nervous system, at the same time the half-life (google it) of clonazepam is one of the longest..which means benzo-diazapines are being stored more and more every dose you take.

not trying to jump up on my soap box, but I went through inappropriate almost cold turkey withdrawal. was very sick.

There are different pharmaceuticals which can ease the process. Barbiturates, which also control seizures, are non-narcotic. Wishing you luck.
