Hi, 21 year old man. I suffer with anxiety, health anxiety and depression. So I’ve been tapering off citalopram as it hasn’t been effective for me for a long time.
I cut from 30mg to 25mg for two weeks then 25mg to 20mg for two weeks which was working great. But Monday I decided to jump from 20mg to 10mg and I don’t know if it’s related but I’ve now been getting pain in my left arm and tingling in my hands and feel weaker in my legs. Like I don’t know if I jumped too soon as these effects have been for the last couple days.
I cut from 20mg to 10mg to try and get started on Venaflaxine quicker to try and get some more improvements.
I just wondered if people thought these effects could be related to the change I’ve done.

you can always up it to see if the pain goes away. When I have tapered i listen to my body and take it slower if I need to. With an SSRI I find eating foods that help clean your gut help. Reason (my theory) is that your gut naturally stores serotonin too so if there is excess amount eating foods like veggies and staying away from gluten and red meat for a bit may help. (look up aruveda)
More than likely it's just your anxiety that is making you hyperfocus on your body sensations. You might try alternating between 20mg one day and 10mg the next and do that for a while to see if that helps.
Mine too hasn’t been very effective, Iam on 30mg citalopram, just started today reducing it to 20mg, going to try for a week, then 10mg week after that, was told if had side effects can up it again
Hi. i’m sorry you’re having pain from changing doses, do you think it’s possible to talk to a doctor about your pain and the changes you’ve experienced?
