My shrink switched my medication from one that worked to one that doesn't and refuses to switch back. It's gotten so bad I'm afraid to leave the house for fear of an anxiety attack.

hi did they give a medical reason for the switchif not go back and tell them of your struggles and that the others worked better for your health.saying that 8 weeks maximum I`d say with new medication anything after that I`d be coming off them.
Hi Rrff1954 "kenster1" is right in that your doctor may want you on this new medication
for the full 6-8 weeks. Sometimes it may seem like the symptoms get worse before better.
Knowing that your doctor has your full medical history, I'm sure he had a reason to pull
you off your former drug (esp. if it were a Benzo) He may have put you on an SSRI medication which is safer in the long run. It takes a little more time to reach full efficacy
but when it does, the benefits may outweigh the symptoms right now. Keep us updated xx
You need to be firm with your psychiatrist ! You know your body best af all. If they are not going to be part of the solution it seems you need to find another provider who will listen to your concerns !! Psychiatrist are not in our bodies or heads !!
