It turns out that my alleged chronic sinus infections are actually migraines. I have an appointment with a neurologist in late October but would like some advice on how to manage/prevent the occurrences. What say all of you?

Best Migraine Treatment?
Hi dishnc, from someone who suffered migraines/tension headaches for years,I found that "Hydration" is the key. Staying well hydrated can help but once the
pain is severe, a quiet, dark, cool room was my respite. Ice pak across forehead
and/or back of head can help in the reduction of the swollen vessels.
Listening to relaxation tape helped me in not responding with fear and anticipation.
Your doctor may give you something to take the edge off the pain. Do not overdo
with pain medication or a rebound headache may develop.
One last thing I just remembered, is watching what you eat that may prompt these
migraines to develop. With me it was cheese. Depending if it happens to a woman
at that time of the month, watch your salt intake.
I am not a doctor and can only advise in what worked for me. Please contact your
physician for professional advice. My best to you. xx
Hi again dishnc, I wanted to add one more thing that helped meand that was Acupuncture. It was expensive and out of pocket but
I did enough treatments to see the relief it gave. xx
