I've noticed that I'm a really sensory person. If something smells calming, I'm absolutely in love with it and have to buy it in bulk! 🤣

For example, I used to hate vanilla and lavender but now that I'm a bit older, the scents calm me down quite a bit and it helps to have something sweet or calming on hand. I used to only buy floral or fruity or "tangy" scents but I've moved into the soft, floral, smoky scents now.

I just got a bottle of bourbon vanilla body wash and I question why I never discovered it before! 🤣 I also really love the scent of white sage & incense.

What are some of your favorite scents? :) I haven't done too much research on aromatherapy and of course it won't replace real therapy and real support. It just helps me to have something physical like that to focus on when my mind is racing or when I need to relax. :)

Also, what sensory things help you when you're overwhelmed or anxious? ❤

I have a few favourite essential oils. Bergamot, neroli, grapefruit & lemon. I buy reed diffusers & have them in the bedroom which relaxes me. I find perfumes with the ingredients & that helps me throughout the day.

Yes, bergamot is such a good one. I used to make candles and I used bergamot a lot in them. :)

I love mentholated tissues. Even when I'm not sick, it feels good to inhale the scent. I also love rose, and wear rose perfume on my pulse points when I feel I need a little extra support.

That sounds nice! :) I love the scent of Vicks menthol rub when I'm sick lol.

My favorite scents are lavender, eucalyptus and most fruity scents especially citrus. Lavender calms me, eucalyptus helps when I'm congested and citrus energizes me. But if I buy a candle I always buy something fruit scented. I had sinus surgery years ago and can't tolerate anything else. My favorite Yankee candles are Honeycrisp Apple Cider, Cranberry Chutney and Strawberry Lemon Ice! When they are on sale I stock up. Unfortunately I have to buy unscented body wash. I also probably look a bit strange when I buy shampoo, conditioner and hair styling products since I have to smell them in the store before I buy them. If you enjoy aromatherapy perhaps you could splurge on a book and a diffuser. Then you can mix and match.

Yes I love those. :) Eucalyptus has been a favorite of mine too. I don't think that's silly at all, I smell my products too before I buy them. Those candles sound awesome, I'll have to try them! 🥰

That is so cool! 🤣 I would be so relaxed if I worked next to an aromatherapy place or something.

Yeap...I absolutely love lavender and a few other oils. Very relaxing smell and helps me calm down 🙂 I also have peppermint oil by fi.volantaroma.com/ which I initially got to deter this mouse that was coming round my place. Apparently peppermint can help you sleep better and it smells great!
