A little bit of good news

Hi everyone. I finally made the decision and adopted a dog. I didn't know if I could handle the responsibilities with everything I'm going through but the training and care are a welcome distraction from my problems. The love this guy has given me the past few days could last a lifetime. There are finally some smiles and laughter in the house which has been missing for far too long. BTW his name is Toby. Wishing everyone well!

Thank you. Yes, I was in an apartment for 11 years that didn't allow them. Took a long time!

Thanks! He's a spaniel mix. Maybe a little hound?

So sweet. 😍 I have two hound mix puppies (a year apart). I will always have a hound now. They are just so empathetic.

Toby is a beautiful dog, you have so much love to look forward to, I’d love another dog but we’re in our seventies so don’t think it’s fair on the dog, happy days 👍

I just moved in with my 82 year old dad to help care for him. The dog has been great for him too. I'm sure you have a lot to offer the right dog!

They're great friends aren't they dogs?

They are great company, but it’s the walking is a problem as I have chronic pain , I wouldn’t mind a little dog who doesn’t need much exercise , ive always had rescue dogs all my life so know what I’m missing, as you say it’s getting the right dog 😊

Hello handsome Toby and congrats to you Broken1971 🐶.(it's unfortunate that the emoji's dont give us much choice to put up at least the same-ish colour but hey-ho, it's a dog's face!!😂). Toby will bring you so much joy and the companionship and having to think of anything other than your illness, is so special. How old is Toby? What breed is he? My son who's my carer, had a Rescue Dog called Hazel but sadly her time came to go to doggie heaven some 7ish months ago. We missed her so much and our flat was so quiet so we've now got a Victorian Bulldog who was 6 months old the other day. I will get my son to post an.up 2 date photo and also one from when he was 9 weeks old.Enjoy Toby as I'm sure you already are! 🐿🌈😷

Thank you so much and I'm so sorry about Hazel! They told us Toby is 2 to 4 years old but they don't know for sure. Personally, I think he's younger. He's a spaniel mix. I've never had a spaniel before so I have some research/learning to do!

That's fantastic!! Great decision in my opinion. He will love you unconditionally and always be there waiting for you. On those bad days just make sure he has a little kibble in his bowl and some water.
