Daytime med for anxiety?

Trazadone helps great at night but has side effect of drowsiness, which is great at night but not good during day. Anyone?

Trazadone is a sedative, my doctor gives it to me because I suffer from insomnia.

It's not strictly a sedative, it's an excellent anti-anxiety med. I've taken plain sedatives before and still stayed awake all night. Trazadone actually gets after my irrational 'but-what-if...' mind chatter and sends me off to dreamland. When it was introduced, the drowsiness was considered a side effect, but turns out to be to be a blessing for night use.
