Health anxiety... or????

Haven’t written on here in a while... but my health anxiety is really bad right now. The dizziness I’ve been feeling for about a year now ever since my first ever real and bad panic attack. I’m worried about brain tumors now... yup, my 21 year old self with no history or family history of them or anything brain related besides anxiety is worries about brain tumors. The headaches and dizziness on a day to day basis is just so scary to me cause it’s so new. This past year has been hell for me, constant ER visits about my chest pain and thinking I have COVID to just sitting in my apartment breaking down and worrying about my health. Some kind words and reassurance would be appreciated.

Take deep breaths and try to calm yourself.

I think a lot of people wonder if they have some sort of ailment. I’ve thought that myself. Am I having a heart attack or do I have tumors.

Are you seeing a doctor? Can you contact them or go see them? At least to find out why you’re dizzy?

You need to do something, anything to relax and possibly lay down and maybe meditate. You can google how to meditate.

You’ll be fine. You’re young—you can relax and be happy.

Thank you, and I’ve talked to my doctor about it and thinking it’s a brain tumor and stuff but he said that it was just my anxiety and me having health anxiety it’s hard to just hear that without forsure knowing which scares me

It probably is your anxiety. You need to take your mind off it and you’ll feel better.

The only thing to do is get a brain scan but it sounds like your doctor believes it’s definitely your anxiety.

Do you see a therapist? I have one and she and I talk about what can I do to make myself calm or happy. So I can go back to those things when I get anxious or stressed.

Maybe you should think about what calms you down or relaxes you and do them. Can you think about that?

I hope you get your anxiety level down at least a little bit.

I just saw someone posted that dizziness can be caused by stress. I know I get really stressed out and then the back of my neck hurts and get very nauseous. When I get this I get a wet cloth or paper towel and place it on the back of my neck. Somebody told me when I get really stressed out to count five things I see over and over to get my mind off things. It doesn't always work but does sometimes. Hope this helps. Stay strong.

I too have severe anxiety that manifests itself with horrible physical symptoms. Brought on usually by fear of health problems. I wish I could give you some cure-all advice, but maybe just knowing that there are others out there who truly understand what you're going through, you might feel some relief... nothing works for me other than talking out my fears with compassionate, understanding people. You're not alone!
