Kens2, I honestly have had "all of the above" symptoms. Scary isn't it, in what
anxiety can do to us??
What we need to understand is that it is NOT about the symptoms but about the
thoughts producing those physical sensations. That was the hardest thing for me
to comprehend for a long time. I was on medication and had therapy. Like you said,
"in one ear and out the other", continually feeling just as bad leaving as when I came in.
What were the therapists telling me that I was not hearing??
It took years existing in this horrible state of avoidance, agoraphobia until one day while
quietly sitting and rehashing over all I had been told by doctors and therapists over the years, I had an "aha" moment. That was the moment that everything came together and made sense. Why didn't I see it earlier?
I didn't because my mind was blocked with the negative lies anxiety had been telling me
for years as well as going into a habit in thinking "this will happen" so why even try..
After a while, what we think is what we get. You can't expect a miracle if you don't believe
in change.
From that day on, I worked on changing myself. Unless we are proactive in what we are being told, we keep spinning in a circle of defeat and doubt. Taking that first step forward
was important. Knowing how important the Mind/Body Connection was, also was another
step forward. Little by little Kens2, the pieces of the puzzle start making the picture.
We cannot change others, we can only change ourselves and the way we react to others
words or actions.
Will end now by simply saying, you are in the right place on this forum. Take with it what
may work for you and ignore the rest. In our responses may lie the answer you are looking for xx
