For some people, antidepressants actually save their lives. For me, they didn't work for me because I'm so resistant to meds. At least give them a try if you think you need them. Pay attention to how they effect you and the side effects. Also have a serious talk with your Psychiatrist for what he or she feels will work for you. Unfortunately I can't take any but Prozac saved my mom.

its hard to say. ifsomething specific is depressing you, and youhavent been seriously depressed, then medication is probably not the answer. butdont just wait it out either. talk to someone, come up with a plan, develope coping tools.

on the other hand, if this stressful time is only the latest in a string of depressed states in your recent past, then you should probably consider medication. talk to acoundelor or your doctor to get started.

It dose take 6-8 weeks for them to work but they do work really well I can tell u from myself using them I am on esctalopram and they work wonders I wanted to come off them after 3 weeks as the head pain was horrible but u still need to stick it out because it’s with it I am changing to sertraline at the moment as this one is giving me really bad itchy skin and the itching is so bad it’s causing me to not sleep and not to be able to wear clothes and nothing is causing it to go away no creams or lotion or antihistamines

Hi bethany971, depending what is causing this very stressful time in your life will

depend in which avenue you take. Therapy is always an option to address your concerns

and put you on a better path to recovery.

Sometimes, medication is needed if it is a chemical imbalance. Your doctor will know

know which direction to take. :) xx
