I realised the other day, as I watched my 6yo eat from his ducky-decorated lunch plate and drink from a cup that has penguins floating in the bottom of it, that I was jealous.
I’ve never had a penguin cup. My plate has a boring flower pattern on it. And his bedcovers are Lego, mine are just... dots.
Wouldn’t it make me happier to embrace my childish side again? I used to wear t-shirts with pictures on, and funky coloured socks. Then I grew up. I started dressing like other 30 year olds and I guess I thought I had to stop doing all that fun stuff.
But actually, I think I’d like to have a penguin cup. And Lego on my bedcovers. And a t-shirt with a superhero on the front.

I know what you mean. Go on spoil yourself and get a penguin cup too. Also if you don't want to be seen wearing funky clothes get funky socks etc. I have a thing about shoes and handbags and have some really cool ones even though I am in my 60's. You can still indulge and express yourself whatever age you are.
If if I could still wear high heels i would get a pair of multi coloured ones with silver sparkles on which glitter and shine. 😁x
