The Mindfulness Journal., Exciting New Ways to Express Yourself πŸ€”πŸ€”

β€’12 Replies

I came across this journal called the Mindfulness Journal at CVS. (On display until 8/24 @ any store.) As I thumbed through deciding if I would purchase this magazine, I became incredibly impressed and excited at the different ways to journal and wanted to share it with all of you.

As some of us had talked about writing our thoughts & feelings down day after day, the same way, it can become redundant and boring. I have stumbled across several new ways of expressiveness in which I cannot wait to try.

I took photos of some pages to give you an idea of what's inside this amazing cacophony of journaling ideas and unfortunately was only able to post 1 picture which was a huge bummer, so I will add 1 photo being the cover and and will list the fun ways that take journaling to a whole new level.

If you see something(s) that are of particular interest to you I can email you the page (s).

You know I saw something like this at walgreens. I should have bought it. The stuff inside looked fun to do! I journal my thoughts and stuff and sometimes it does get redundant. This is cool though. Thanks for sharing!

It's very different than anything I've seen regarding journaling. It does look fun. It's very colorful inside..you can use markers, colored pencils , crayons, anything...I'd go back and grab it.

It's on the shelves until August.

It looks great. Much appreciated. X

You're welcome! It's very different and is much more motivating than just writing in a journal everyday. You can draw, write, interview yourself, make a collage. and many other interesting fun journaling ideas & prompts.

Hi, I saw your comments on another post and was curious about the collage thing... if you don't mind my asking, how does that work?? It sounds really cool, especially since I get text/online therapy and always feel like I'm completely inundating my poor counselor, making her read these novel-length rants about my feelings! >_< I'd pick up one of these books myself, but we don't have a CVS in town. :(

Anyway, thank you! And I hope you're doing well. <3

Hi ,

Be glad to explain. Basically you'll get a big piece of cardboard or poster board and you look through magazine's finding pics you love and that describe other moods you may be experiencing. You can paste them glue them etc..you can also add 3 dimensional objects and you secure them. If you want to you can add a feeling under the picture or object. You can get crazy creative and do anything you want for example describing who you are etc.. It's like a journal without the writing and it's more fun.

Aah, that's really cool!! I might have to try something like that on a smaller scale, not sure I have enough feelings to fill a whole posterboard @_@ Thanks so much for the elaboration, I appreciate it! :)

You're welcome. There's a lot more examples above under Journaling Prompts. It's very cool and most of not boring. It's actually motivating for me because I find simply writing boring. To me, anything you pour your feelings into is a type of journal

Agreed, for sure! Prompts are always useful, it's nice to have a different starting point than just the same blank space on the page and in your head every time (at least that's how it works for me, lol). I doodle in my journal a lot, so maybe that's sort of the same kind of thing... I mean, they're not high quality doodles, but I try! πŸ˜…

True, Journaling is more than writing about your feelings it's expressive in many ways. Doodling doesn't have to be perfect...sometimes I scribble really fast when I'm angry

I am horrible at journaling. I have maybe 10 "journals". I will get a notebook, start writing, and after maybe a week or 2 I'll find it too difficult and stop.

in reply to AK0424

Stop writing and look at the different ways I've listed to do your journal. We have always been told that Journaling is just writing in a notebook. Not so, journaling which is expressing your feelings and thoughts is so much more...look above..be creative..purging your thoughts and feelings can be such a creative process. It's the process it's your journal..private. Use that process in the best way you know how.

Use arts and crafts, collages, put pics in your notebooks, cut out magazine pics and letters, interview yourself,

As long as you express yourself, you're doing journaling it's just not the old fashioned way.
