Seeing the best in people shine through

Will all of the fear and restrictions in place right now I have been trying to concentrate on the good in my community. Just a few examples from my community:

A group of people are spending their time at home sewing and donating face masks to hospitals and nursing homes.

A number local restaurants are cooking and donating food to low income families since the children are out of school and not getting breakfast and lunch.

A small distillery has switched their operations to making hand sanitizer for first responders.

And my favorite: Instead of chipping in and making meals at the fire station when they are on duty the firefighters are chipping in and getting takeout from local restaurants then posting pictures on facebook of the food, their truck and who's on duty that day.

Little things mean a lot and help me realize we are all in this together. If something special is happening in your community please share.

Great post. I saw that pizza was donated to the emergency staff in a hospital.

I notice more kindness when I have to go to the grocery store. I know the media is showing the negative in most stores. There is kindness everywhere. It's sad that the bad things are shown more.

Stay safe

I agree. Right now I am concentrating on the good. Thankfully there is a lot of good going on.

There are a lot of people who are able bodied helping get shopping for people who can not get to the shops. It is hard to get a space for online shopping. Our neighbours asked us to let them know if we need anything. We are grateful but independent, our supermarket has a pensioners hour, so hopefully there will not be a fight for food. Things seem to have calmed down at the moment, but there are still stupid people who stay in crowds. I hope these people read this and think twice, probably not.

I am glad you are safe and that your neighbors have offered to help. Hearing the many ways people are doing what they can to help others helps me so much. As for the people who aren't taking the warnings seriously for whatever reason. I am hoping they listen before it's too late. I am praying for everyone and even though it upsets me terribly to hear some people aren't doing what they should I chose to keep them in my prayers too. So much of the blame game is going on where I live and I don't want to be part of that. I want to celebrate people who are kind. I guess that's one of the things that is keeping me going. But at the same time I completely understand the people who are frustrated and angry. And I don't think any less of them. We are all doing what we can. Stay safe. Continue to be well. HUGS and BLESSINGS!
