This is ice fishing in my rural Canadian village at 4C-no we don’t do anything different to other places... πŸ˜‚ just catch different fish🦈

I like it here because it reminds me of wide open spaces despite the mountains - they are like 50-60km away in a different province.... it’s very quiet and calming....

Hope everyone has a place they can go even mentally to find the inner calm they need to tackle the hard stuff like daily living even...

I can almost feel the fresh crisp air against my face as well

as hear the crackling of ice under my feet.

How sweet it is to find peace and serenity in our lives.

Thank you for sharing CanuckAnon. Breathe :) xx

It is one of the sweetest feelings for sure. These type of places and/or feelings make the whole fight worthwhile imo. 😊

Wow what a stunning photograph. You sure do have wide open spaces.

Brrrr would be too cold there for me.

But I can close my eyes, turn the TV down and I am actually finding it calming..

Even though I can't be there in Body ,I can find some inner peace. Even my eyes aren't feeling so heavy..

Thanks Sweetie 😚❀🌻🌹🌻πŸ₯€ XXXX

Its a vest over hoodie kind of day.... beautiful for March. 4C is like 40 F so not freezing water temp - melting ice temp! 😊

It’s very calming though.... all I could hear was crunching snow from dogs sniffing around, chickadees and sleds going out to ice shacks....

Flip flop day

No dirt paths they claim are roads are ice rinks more or less... flip flops don’t have that great of traction... it’s more a crampons type of day but by all means could be Velcro sandals with crampons - why not? πŸ˜‚

The trick is Buy a pair 2 sizes too small so your toes hang over the front ...can get some momentum up hills ....then just relax and slide on the way down ....what kind of fish do they catch?

ya those oh so reliable and safe toe nail brakes... πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ not so comforting unless of course you drive a car like Fred Flinstone??? Perhaps toenail brakes are the norm for you... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£

Fresh Trout sounds good we have perch here but don’t eat them ....they are ruthless little fish for their size

Beautiful and desolate!

Wonderful photo.

Would love to be pulled by dogs on the ice.

In the south of the UK we do not get snow very often.

We do have some hot summers and I get to wild swim in the little wooded coves when we drop anchor for the day. See seals, cormorants and lots of wading birds.

What are Chickadees by the way? What other wildlife do you see up there? It must be an amazing environment.

Chickadees are small little birds about the size of a finch... their teeets sound like chick Dee Dee Dee... they are very tame and will eat sunflower seeds out of your hands. Must be cool to live so close to the sea and channel. I would love to live in outer Hebrides personally.

Love the photo 😊

Although I’m in the uk I have been fortunate to visit Canada (Nova Scotia ) many times 😊 winter , fall and summer..love it ! 😊

I have nice places here in uk ,near to a lake that I often go to walk, it really helps to be in nature

Thanks for sharing x
