Hi I have been prescribed this medication and it’s ok I started of at 5mg got headaches from it daily and then they switched me to citalpram and it was awful headache and gave me all sorts off issues so I decided to go back onto this it worked wonders for me till I started to get the stinging headache 🤕 where it would sting for hours and it was awful my doctor wants me to stick it out and see if it gets better with time but I am thinking about taking myself off it slowly and then asking for something else I don’t think this will work but I have took it today and I will see as it’s only day 3 of starting it up again and want to give it chances to settle in x

I know your post is a little older and I hope you’ve found it to be good for you, but I answered anyway and also wondered how it worked? I’m going through stage where I think I need to do a diff med for anxiety myself.

I think this is Lexapro which is one of the popular choices Drs perscribe, but like all of them I think the reviews are definitely helpful if most sway in one direction and you have a large number of people responding. Enough, that it’s a clear positive way to go. I have been on a handful of them, Lexapro as well. It’s been awhile so I don’t really remember the exact reason I went off. I guess it wasn’t working! The only one I tried that really messed me up was Trazadone. It messed me up. I first started feeling numbness on my face, lower area, one side. I didn’t connect to the med and it freaked me out. It got worse and then the other symptoms were jitteriness, dizziness, odd vision issues, nausea. It was AWFUL. Coincidentally my sister who lives in another state, who also suffers from my same issues of anxiety and depression was prescribed the same med and had the exact symptoms. She was a few weeks ahead of me and suffered the same things. I got get off of it, and that was hard too

Unfortunately we have to give these a shot but if you can be in a more stable position when you switch (I know that’s not always feasible), then if it’s bad you can handle it better.

What we all have to go through with finding what’s right for us is just another anxiety ridden problem we have to deal with. As if there’s not enough already.

I have taken Wellbutrin and it keeps me on an even keel as far as mood. I take kolonipin as needed for anxiety. It helps pretty good as long as I don’t over use it, like take it as prescribed 1 a day at bedtime. Otherwise the effects wear off.

We’re all so different and I know after writing all that, I didn’t directly answer your question but if you happen to be new on taking meds you’ll know it’s a process.

I wish you the best of luck from the bottom of my heart that you find the one or ones, so you can get back to you old self. I suffer from social anxiety as well 😕
