Kratom

Has anyone here tried Kratom for energy, anxiety, depression or insomnia? I’ve been looking into it and wanted to see if anyone had any success with it.

I always answer this as a neuroscientist. I wouldn’t put it in my system. If you do I would discuss it with at least two physicians. I don’t know what meds you take but it can adversely react. Everything we ingest with our mouths, nose, eyes, and ears has consequences. We always like it when it’s good.

There are not nearly enough longitudinal studies with enough data to see if this is good or bad for us.

Personally at this time I’m 100% against using this until more data is in. It’s very scanty.

I totally agree with Neuronerd. It's untested and you have no idea how it will affect you. The FDA and Mayo both warn against using it.

I can’t imagine wanting to even fathom using it after what I’ve read.

I’ve tried it and although the first day was good the days after did not do well with me. So I didn’t continue using it.

I personally would not recommend it but everybody bodies are different. One med might work for one but not for another.

I’ve been using Kratom for over 5 years with total success for my RLS. From the moment I started taking it, I felt a wave of calm come over my itchy body parts (legs, arms, and rib cage, typically). I have not had to increase my dose over that time in order to get the same amount of relief. I use red-veined Indo Kratom. The red-veined variety is the most relaxing, and as RLS happens at night, that is the best for it. No augmentation and no side effects except for maybe a loose stool immediately after taking it for the first year or so. To combat any possible kidney or liver damage (similar to chronic acetaminophen use, I believe), I take NAC (N-acetylcysteine) nightly as well. I’m sure I’m addicted after all this time, but my understanding is that it is similar to caffeine addiction, which I also have. I can live with that in order to live without RLS!
