I am sorry to hear you have been having a racing heart. I find the quickest way to get it back to normal is to lie down. If you can lie down during an attack and try to focus on breathing slowly and calmly that can help. I wish you luck.

These are tough moments. Especially in a crowded place or while driving or even when you're alone. Assuming you've had tests done to confirm you're heart is healthy, distraction worked best for me. We all react differently and have our comforts that work for us. I used to pace around my house or outside on the lawn. I posted my healthy heart results from my cardiologist visit around the house to remind myself it's not life threatening. Another suggestion that worked for me is a really cold shower or make myself cry. Just load up youtube and watch animal transformations or humanity restored videos. Those will get the eyes watering. It seems to take your attention away from the palpitations.
