Seroquel side effects

I’ve been taking seroquel for about 15 years, since I was 13, for bipolar diagnosis and treating insomnia. For the past few years I feel like my short term memory is getting pretty bad. For instance, I’ll watch a movie a few weeks earlier and then completely forget watching it, just one example of many times I’m reminded of how terrible my memory is. I also have developed very high cholesterol. I’ve tried getting off of it but it became impossible not to take it again after trying alternatives to sleep but being unable to for days and days. Has anyone else experienced possible side effects from long term seroquel use?

Hi briana456. Have you discussed your symptoms with your GP? If you are experiencing difficult side effects then there are many other antidepressants your GP can prescribe. I would never advise coming off the medication yourself. It has to be done under supervision. I have been on antidepressants for years and my memory is poor too. I am sorry you are experiencing that.
