Reducing propranolol

I was on 80mg slow release propranolol for anxiety and high blood pressure. The high bp made my anxiety through the roof.slowly my bp has become lower,too low sometimes.so my doctor reduced my dose to a basic 40mg once a day. On 80mg I felt dizzy sometimes or tired,like I couldn’t be bothered with anything. It’s been a week on this lower dose and the past two nights my anxiety has been creeping back. Haven’t felt like this for months. I’m starting to wonder if I’m better off on the 80mg slow release. I think I’d rather be tired than anxious all the time. Doesn’t 40mg seem a little too low?

I think you should call your doctor and either ask to split the 80mg into 40mg bid (twice a day) or try going to 60mg first. See what your doctor says. Don’t make any changes until you tell your doctor. Best of luck to you💛

Hi! I recently started taking propranolol for anxiety and high blood pressure. My dr. Prescribed me 10mg in the morning and 10 mg at night she said I can take one more during the day if I need to for my anxiety. But the 20 mg a day seem to be helping. Its lowered my bp down a bit and is helping with my anxiety. The only thing is that I get really really tired during the day. And I can feel my heart beating really slow at times. Did u get any of those side effects? And are you still taking the 80mg?
