Has anyone out there who has anxiety problems like me had to go through a surgery? How did you deal with it?

Hi Kate.

I can't say I have anxiety like you, but I do have an anxiety disorder and I did have surgery. The surgery was easy to get through because I was sedated Before and after the procedure I got support from friends and family. I also upped my meds for a short while.

Talk to your doctor if you are nervous. They can help.

I did, just a few months ago. I just put my fear voice aside and put one foot in front of the other. I had a friend with me at the hospital, then I went and stayed with her for a couple of days afterwards just to not be alone when early in recovery. I hope you have similar resources.

I went through some major surgery before I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. It was hell on earth. I was freaked out to the max. Just thinking about it gives me anxiety. That was then, now I talk with my doctor about my issues and everything works out great. Just knowing why I was freaked out has been part of the solution. I tell doctors, dentists, nurses, and anyone else that will listen, they know how to take care of me.
