Venlafaxine

Has anyone had any bad experiences of venlafaxine? Have been on this since February starting on 37.5mg and now on 75mg twice a day. I often feel agitated with racing thoughts and am unable to settle to anything. I also have ringing in my ears and am very irritable. Question is, do I need another change of meds (on escitalopram for 13 years but stopped working for me) or should I try a higher dose as suggested by a CPN I saw recently after a visit to after hours service? What are your experiences of this drug? I do have higher energy levels but find channeling this difficult

Sorry jrobertson1, I did type you a very long reply which might have helped (see my post labelled administration) and I can't face typing it all again.

Look at website drugs.com and you'll find the experiences of loads of Venlafaxine users, for differing illnesses , in different dosages. This might help but probably not as , as with all drugs , nearly every one's experiences and side effects are different.Its an American site so you'll find lots and lots of users experiences. I have n't looked at the site for a while but if you have any trouble using it send me a PM and I'll try to help.
