L&B, Some antidepressants work well for one person and not at all for another. Give this a try and if it doesn't work within about a month, talk to the doctor about trying something else.

This medication takes an extremely long time to start taking affect. I’m on week 4 / 5 of Prozac and it is finally beginning to make me back to the me I use to be. I had to take 30 days off of work to give it time to work. But I’m due to go back to work Tuesday and I actually think I’m ready. Ativan 1mg twice a day 9 AM and 3PM has been key to keep my anxiety under control while waiting for the Prozac to take affect. It works. Don’t lose faith. It takes so along to work that it’s hard to believe that it will, but when it does begin to work, normalcy strikes and you don’t even notice because of how subtle it is. Good luck.
