Somtimes, I can handle anxiety attacks, but sometimes I feel like I cannot even think straight, like I'm descending into madness... I hope someday I'll learn to console myself, I hate being the inconsolable.

Hi nochillc, We have all been where you are at one time or another. The anxious mind going in all different directions that we can't even think straight. You are not going mad. You are consolable once you get your emotions back in control. It starts with accepting that anxiety is a mind game. Telling you things that aren't true, building the fear inside of you until you no longer know what's right from wrong.
Overcoming anxiety is about learning about the Mind/Body Connection. A good book to start with is Dr. Claire Weekes "Hope & Help for your Nerves" It will walk you through the steps in going forward despite anxiety. It will clarify the thoughts you are having and how to reverse the negative to a positive thought. Accepting that anxiety is not harmful and that you can and will get out of this trap and the power it has over you.
You've taken the first step by finding this forum. Men and women of all ages who are experiencing the same symptoms. Sharing experiences and allowing you to not feel so all alone, to not feel inconsolable, because you are. We extend a welcome to you and ask that you join the group in posting your issues as well as responding to others. Sharing helps each one of us. There is strength in numbers. You are never alone. xx
Have you tried any medications? Leveling out the “crazy”. Hugs to you. I’m 99percent positive there’s a LOT more ppl going through what we go through but they don’t talk about it
