Thinking I'm going crazy

Hi everyone,

I've been in and out emergency rooms, and done several test CT scans, MRI on my head due to severe headaches, neck diagnose with loss of curve in neck and mild disc bulge, heart test, xrays etc. And still i can't shake this feeling. Every day, I'm greeted a stiff neck, crushing pain at the back of the head, feeling anxious or like I'm losing control. Coping with day to day routines, work and church is a struggle apart from that I can't grocery shop, go out etc because this also comes with physical ailments, short of breath, chest pain, tingling, numbness and pain. I fear i won't be better and go crazy, the hardest part my family don't understand or consumed in their own life.

I tried counselling once but each time it's also trigger, went to physio due to my neck it's also a struggle.

Sigh

Hello aqua. I'm so sorry you are feeling like this. For the neck issues, headaches I have personally found that using either a heating pad or an ice pack I prefer the ice myself but others prefer the heat. If using Ice wrap a frozen gel pack in a thinnish towel (too thin of a towel will be too cold for you, but too thick won't help), and place it at the top portion of your neck and bottom portion of your skull areas. You can use this when you lay down to go to sleep, or anytime the symptoms start and it should help. (The ice or heating pad shouldn't be used at no more than 10 mins on, followed by 10 mins off). Also a bag of frozen vegetables will also work in place of a gel pack if you don't have one. :)

Also using meditation techniques like imaginary, or deep breathing techniques, taking a warm relaxing bath, getting a massage if you can bring yourself to go get one, etc. might help decrease your symptoms.

As far as the anxiety you are experiencing at the store, church, work etc. it sounds a lot like a condition called agoraphobia that you may be experiencing symptoms of, but only a psychiatrists /psychologist can diagnose you for sure. I have symptoms of this myself, and it can be miserable at times, but the key is to take small steps, and slowly keep pushing yourself in the right direction by forcing yourself to face your fears. Mediation and relaxation techniques should help some. If you feel an attack coming on while you are in somewhere then stop what you're doing and again take some long slow deep breaths, and try to bring your symptoms back down to a more tolerable level.

Here is a link describing agoraphobia that you can look through and see if any of these symptoms sounds like what you are experiencing or not, and then talk with your doctor about it. Good Luck Hun!!

The link is a mirror if exactly what I'm going through. Wow!

I am so sorry about what you are going through. I went through something similar in highschool and it was painful and annoying. I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck and well wishes to you. I hope also that your family soon knows what you are going through so they can give you even more support xoxo.

I was actually being made fun of by some highschool kids but I just learned to shake it off and ignore them. I then learned to adapt my body movement so it works with neck until I became normal again with professional treatment :).

Hey there. I suffer from both migraines and depression so I can definitely relate to those issues. I know the pain is bad as well as the anticipation of the pain... knowing it is coming especially if daily. It stops u from living a healthy life. I'm so sorry.

I never found a silver bullet that cured me. It was a combination of acupuncture, diet, exercise, medications, etc. That helped make things more bearable.

Is there anything else we can do to help? I really feel for you

I think these symptoms are not improving at all. I've tried cymbalta 30mg and lexapro for nerve pain in my head and it should have helped with the anxiety and depression however it made me feel agitated, restless and like I'm losing control.

Hello- have you ever had your B12 checked? Tingling and numbness is a big symptom and it was the cause of my severe anxiety.
