I haven't posted in awhile, and I have been feeling 50% better lately. . I went to my doctor and let her tell me NOTHING is wrong with me but allergies. But I am sure as you all know, it's an ongoing battle, so, what are some things you all do to calm yourself down when you get worked up, how do you keep your mind off of things, and how to you tell yourself everything is okay ?
Well one thing I do is take it one day at a time, sometimes, one minute at a time, like right now it's pretty late here,2:30 am, all I'm thinking about is that comfortable mattress. I hope to get some sleep, well needed I don't mind saying . But you know how it is, I still could be up all night ,.Sometimes I really don't like watching the sun rise. Sorry for the negativety but,its what it is. Talking on here helps sometimes, except when typing stresses me out. I have good typing days and bad today typing hasn't gotten to me yet,but it is late. I'm going to need a break soon.
I also set goals for my day today tasks and these used to include steps so that if I had to stop I would not be too hard on myself.
Also learning to recognise the good days and the bad days and what triggers them was useful.
I learned techniques for positive affirmations and the biggest one for me was learning to forgive myself and also to not be too hard on myself. I set my standards at a ridiculous level that was unachievable. I learned to recognize this and give myself a break.
I have a sleep routine and cleared all the electronics and clutter from my bedroom, so that it is a safe haven that I want to sleep in. I also reprogrammed my sleep patterns.
You have to keep practising the techniques everyday until they become automatic and then c continue to practise them regularly so they are just second nature when you need them.
