Questions about my Meds?

So I finally went and got diagnosed with depression and anxiety/social phobia two days ago, and diagnosed with ADD as well, this is my first time taking any medication. I was given Zoloft and Adderall.

Yesterday was the first whole day I was taking them and I'm starting out on a low dose of Adderall. Once it wore off in the middle of the day I was suddenly really confused. I was driving my friend around and she had to tell me when to turn because I just suddenly forgot which lane I was even in turning out of a parking lot. It freaked me out a bit. So I was wondering if it's normal for other people prescribed Adderall that when it wears off you feel utterly exhausted and sometimes really confused/delirious?

And for the more concerning reaction I took Zoloft the last two nights since it makes you drowsy but I think I'm in that 20% that has the opposite effect because I haven't slept well at all. The first night I woke up feeling sick and almost bloated, I figured I had the flu or something but then when I woke up I felt fine. The second night was about the same but I didn't notice feeling as sick. I decided to trade it to taking Zoloft in the morning since I can't sleep, and like a minute after taking it I was feeling sick and bloated again. My stool is also really loose (gross I'm sorry) and this started up when I started taking Zoloft. I also kind of keep getting hot flashes..? Is this a serious reaction? Is my body just adjusting? Or maybe I'm just sick...? I don't know. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Bluebird,

Starting a new medication is really trial and error by the doctors to find the right one. Unfortunately each medication reacts differently in each body.

In general the medication takes 4-6 weeks to begin working and you can expect some changes in your body as it adjusts.

The BUT is that if you really are bothered by the symptoms, go back to your doctor for a discussion about them.
