Has anyone taken Perdnisone or Prednisolone with Warfarin ?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has taken Perdnisone or Prednisolone with Warfarin ? Experienced any drug interactions ?

Yes & ended up with an INR of 8.5. Now I check every time with the Drug Interaction site, which states;

PrednisoLONE may alter the effects of warfarin. Both increased and decreased effects have been reported. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black, tarry stools; coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds; severe headache; and weakness. Also be alert to potential signs and symptoms of blood clots such as chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden loss of vision, or pain, redness or swelling in an extremity, and seek immediate medical attention if they occur. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor. On Prednisolone for a short period. INR did raise slightly so reduced dose. I was not on it for long so didn't have a problem with it. Would suggest getting INR checked more often while on it.
