Hi has anybody had bad periods on rivaroxiban? following 2 blood transfusions I’ve had the coil fitted and still losing to much blood I have had the coil in a month now and hasn’t made a difference. Dr had lowered the dose to 15 mg but won’t take of rivaroxiban.

It's a problem on thinners. :(. I had really bad periods and was just pleased to get menopausal. 2 weeks of embarrassing hell each month isn't much fun. Sorry I don't have suggestions as such, just empathy.

Yes ridiculous clots etc. Apparently very common and not of danger. HOWEVER, I got an IUD and the problem is taken care of.

How long after the coil fitted does it settle down I’ve had mine a month now and hasn’t made a difference

I would say the 2 - 3 month time frame for me. Now I just have a small bit of spotting for 2 - 3 days. Almost nothing. I also recall having bad cramps the first month, but that subsided as well.

Did you have to stop anticoagulants for the procedure to get it put in?

Yes my periods are hurrendous on rivaroxaban.

I've been to see my GP on Monday about getting the coil fitted but it could me me bleed more .

I'm 49 this year and periods are coming every two weeks now it's draining me.

GP has referred me to gynecology to see what they recommend.

I don't need a coil for birth control it's purely to try and stop my periods or lighten them.

GP said you can always take it out if your not happy.
