Back when my muscle spasms started interfering with my sleep I would put an extra blanket on my bed, just from my waist down.

I told myself that the extra heat would stop the spasms.

And it did. Until that stopped working.

If I don't have Lyrica, I tell myself that 0.5mg of Etizolam will stop the spasms. Often it does, on occasion, I have taken the wrong pill by mistake. Stops the spasms all the same. So, there is something in the old placeboes.
