Hi Tiny, I am sorry your struggling with so much pain 🤗🤗 Yes your GP is the one to refer you to pain management.
If you find you're having difficulty managing your pain, ask your GP for a referral to a specialist pain clinic. ... They aim to support you in developing self-help skills to control and relieve your pain.
May I ask have you ever done CBT at all. Or do you have a Talking Shop service in your area?
Mo
No I haven't dizzy, just feels lyk the doctors r fobbing me off all the time, I nw carnt even enjoy a bath as it causes more pain serious pain, am worse after a bath than before I went in it
Tiny, I would definitely ask the doctor about been reffered ro a pain management scheme. There may be long waiting list. But don't be fobbed off. Maybe try seeing a different GP in your surgery.
Have you tried googling up The Talking Shop for your town to see if there is one. It is free and you can self reffer over the phone. I spent a whole year with them doing CBT.
I know this isn't easy but it may help if you had something to take your mind if your pain. I am in the same position with my pain at the moment so I do understand. Unfortunately or fortunately which ever way you look at it. I found all the pills never helped my fibro pain. For me I think they made me feel sicker to be honest.
I no longer take medication because I can not tolarate it. Just some OTC pain pills and a little muscle relaxer when I'm desperate.
Everyone is different. And if medication works for you that's great. But I personally never saw the point of taking all that heavy pain medication when it was not doing anything.
This is just how I deal with my fibro and OA I'm not saying that's what you should do.
Have you seen a physio at all Tiny? You could try ringing your hostpital and self reffer. We can at my hostpital. But please talk with your doctor 🤗🤗
Yeah I've seen phsio they referred me 4 hydrotherapy so waiting on tht 2, just fed up of being in pain frm the moment I get up until I go to sleep n no meds r actually working, I've seen diff docs n get same answer am nt willing to accept tht tho
Aww Tiny, I know it doesn't help. but your not alone. I wake up every morning in agony. But the more I lay and think about it the worse it does get.
I'm also a wheel chair user because I can not walk far at all due to my back and legs. But after I have a little ok a big moan to my long suffering hubby lol followed by floods of tears. I give myself a good shake and go over what I can still do. Breathing is at the top of my list breathing is good right 😂 I can still feed myself. Maybe not cook like I once did I'm more In to teaching hubby now. And boy is that job. We're talking about a guy who can just about cook chips and that's if he puts them in the oven 🤣
What I'm trying to say is for me distraction plays a big part in dealing with my pain. And if I can't do something like I once did. Then I try something new or find a different way around the problem.
Please don't think I'm making light of your pain. I've suffered every day for 35 years in pain. But I found out very early on. The only one who can help me is me.
Yes pills, CBT, Pain clinics all play a big part. But we have to play our part too. I do hope you get some help soon. Have you phoned about the hydrotherapy and maybe try and give them a nudge? 🤗🤗
Yeah I've chased hydrotherapy up and there is 38 ppl on the list and am number 32 so gonna have a bit of a wait, its just s**t I carnt enjoy the simple stuff lyk a hot bath, but am greatful to be alive and have an amazing kid
Yes I'm sure we all understand how you feel. But it's great you also have some positives in your life too. You take care and try and rest up and relax a little xx
Hey i get dihyracodine and fentanyl patches from my GP so there's definitely stronger meds available they just don't like to give them out so you have to stand your ground with your GP don't take no for a answer i did try the pain clinic first unfortunately i didn't find it to be helpful but we all deal with our illness differently so it's just trial and error hope u get some relief soon 😁
Thank you, so my GP blatantly lied, kinda knew back of mind but shame we have to come on these forum or do investigatory work ourselves! Thank you so much xx
Mine 2
Really, so wrong!?
Yeah I agree I told her straight tho if I was a horse with a dodgy leg 9/10 they would put it down, so y do us humans left to suffer
Lol, say it like it is, but it's so true. The amount of pain and suffering we go through. I even tried to show my go the comments in this forum he just wouldn't look. They are awful, ultimately they really don't care x
She looked at me lyk I was stupid 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️I was only telling the truth
They drive you to it, more like a person who is tired of their nonsense
It's pure frustration when they tell u there ain't anything else they can do, n I've gotta wait for hydrotherapy treatment, so in English here take these n get on with it
It's hard to get on with it when you have so much pain. My GP hasn't even offered the option of hydrotherapy (I'm going to push for it ) cos I need it. I'm taking so many pills it's ridiculous, I'm still in pain I've got appointment with pain clinic next week who will give me the same attitude as he GP
Docs refered me 4 physio and it was physio tht refered me 4 hydrotherapy but a waiting list 4 tht 2
And am on 12 tablets a day
I'm on roughly about the same but in also taking digestive enzymes pills with every meal too
Hi am sorry you are in so much pain but I don't think there is anything they can give us that will take all the pain away, I hope you are not on Naproxen still or if you are they are checking your kidneys because they can cause problems. None of the meds they give out for Fibro have worked for me I now take 8 paracetamol a day and 250 grms Tapendatol every 12 hours which does help a bit and at the moment oramorph which I only take at night, its true what someone said you have to stand your ground with some Drs and see if they can give you something to help. Hang on in there we all stick together Love & Hugs Xx
Yeah I've had bloods done recently as I've been on naproxen atleast 3 months now, constant pain for 3 months
