Hi all have just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but have mild pain, but serve fatigue, fog & dizzy spells. I also suffer with the other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia (ibs, migrainesetc) but was wondering if it's usual for the other symptoms to be more prominent then the pain or if the doctors have it wrong. Could it be me/cfs instead as this is what I first thought I could have.

Recently diagnosed, is it fibromyalgia???
Welcome to the AFMCG Community!
I can completely understand how you feel being newly diagnosed after a period of not knowing what is causing all these symptoms.
You're right many of the conditions you have mentioned have similar symptoms and it can be confusing jigsaw for DRs to put together sometimes. I would read up more about Fibromyalgia and maybe the Tender Point Test, which you may or may not have already had as part of the diagnosis process. Can I ask why you feel the diagnosis doesn't fit your symptoms? Is it the fact the fatigue is the worse symptom?
If you are really worried about whether you've received the right diagnosis, you can always ask to see your medical notes (often a fee involved) and check which tests you've had and the results of these. This might put your mind at rest or uncover another test that should ideally be done. You may want to ask your GP to do or alternatively ask for a second opinion.
As a newbie, I've noticed you haven't locked this post to the community and this means it is open to be read by anyone on the internet. Locking it means that only the first few lines can be read, here's the link to do this;
