Have you been advised to have an ablation and know what it is? An ablation is a long term, effective procedure with a high success rate for atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter.

It is completely natural to feel anxious about a procedure, so preparation is key. Our information sheet 'Preparing for an ablation' offers you a wealth of information about all you need to know: api.heartrhythmalliance.org...

We have a dedicated Patient Services Team who are here to offer support, advice and information via Patient Helpline +44 (0) 1789 867502 or via email, please visit: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

Alternatively, for further information, please visit our webpage: api.heartrhythmalliance.org...

We are always here if you need us and hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

HollieAdmin

That's very use Hollie thank you. Is there anywhere I can check the success rate of ablations? A lot of the discussion on the site seems to be negative or is it that once it works the successful people naturally migrate away from the site?

Hello,

Thank you for your response. An ablation does have a high success rate for atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter and is a long term, effective procedure.

We have lots of information about an ablation, including videos from Consultant Cardiologists on our webpage: heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/... There are also further resources. I do hope this information is helpful and that it helps provide a better understanding about an ablation.

If you would like any support, advice or further information, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated Patient Services Team via Patient Helpline or via email, please visit: heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/...

We are always here if you need us.

Kind regards,

HollieAdmin
