In Patient Services we are often approached by so many individuals seeking advice around the various treatment options for atrial fibrillation. We are able to provide education, support and information, however, the benefits of learning from personal experience is invaluable. An ablation is a popular and successful treatment option. We are seeking individuals that have experienced a Pulsed-Field Ablation (PFA) themselves, in the hope they are willing to share their experience of the procedure with us, this can be either via a recorded video with our team or in a written format. Whichever way you prefer we will be very grateful, the Team are here to help you in doing so in a confidential manner, so all we require is for you to contact us direct either via our Patient Helpline or via email: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
Your support is much appreciated and hope to hear from you soon
Kind regards

Tracy, I had a PFA in October 2024 and it was life changing for me. I had been in perpetual AF since a hospital stay in February 2024 and was unable to continue using flecainide due to my amyloidosis diagnosis. The only other medication the cardiologist wanted to try was amiodarone, which I absolutely refused to take due to the horrific possible side affects. I came out of my PFA procedure AF free and continue to be AF free. Prior to going into AF I was on flecainide for all sorts of irregular heart rhythms which had been causing me a lot of discomfort and shortness of breath. For me, the PFA has been a miracle; no more shortness of breath, minimal irregular rhythms, and best of all no medications.
I hope if you decide to move forward with the PFA that you have the same results I have experienced. Doctors would tell me to exercise, but when your hearts not working the way it should, it makes it next to impossible. The cardioversion I had in the hospital kept me out of AF for about 24 hours, just long enough to be discharged! The PFA has made me feel better than I did before I went into AF; I am absolutely grateful for my team of doctors in Boston for referring me for it and getting it done. I hope you'll share your journey. All the best to you.
