Hi

Looking for travel insurance for trip.to Guernsey in June 2025,it has been a while since we left the UK for a holiday .

Has anyone got a recommendation?

I had an ablation June 2022, 98% successful. I am still on flecanide and apixaban to maintain.

Husband has well controlled type 2 diabetes and had a dvt this year . All ok since.

Thank you

Staysure covered me for PAF. Questions asked during the quote when declaring AF were 'have you had an ablation?' and 'how many visits to hospital over the past year? They may load your premium. I also had to make a small claim for delays in 2023 which was handled efficiently.

Probably cheaper to have a year's insurance rather than just for one trip, so plan another holiday while you're at it. :-)

I use Staysure for our annual travel insurance too, and their questioning re AF/ ablation is very straightforward. Yes I’m sure they load the premium, but not as bad as other insurers.

We always have an annual policy - it’s cost effective if you have more than one break.

A couple of years ago Staysure upped our renewal price. I tried loads of competitors but prices were only slightly lower, similar or worse. I approached Staysure saying that I would not be renewing and would be insuring with a competitor as their quote was less. Staysure immediately reduced the premium to below the competitors quote.

I use LV as used for cars and house.

It’s more about your answers to the questions the condition throws up than the condition itself. Paying £120ish for joint yearly policy (Europe) with wife on BP meds. Informed of treatment change from meds to ablation this year and made little difference.

Best wishes
