Another Update - and not good news!

I have just spent another 10 days in hospital whilst they have been trying to get my HR under 100 - nothing working so far - they have let me out with many drugs in the hope that bed rest and the drugswill bring it down. Unfortunately I have also been diagnosed with Stage 3 heart failure. I am hugely shocked I am told it may improve but no guarantees . My blood pressure is also very low. I’m waiting on consultant appointments and a chat with the dr but would be grateful to hear from anyone who has experienced something g similar

Hi Buffafly - yes that’s one of the options but they want me to get a bit better first before that’s done - they’ve also spoken about a pacemaker with a defibrillator . It would be useful to hear from anyone who has got one of those cos I’d never heard of one!

Here is a link to the ICD Factsheet from the Arrythmia Alliance which explains all about implantable devices. They have been around for at least 40 years and quite a few people on this forum and the BHF forum post threads about them. Like anything else, there are benefits and risks.
