I think the question of expectations of future quality of life is relevant as I have found, personal experience and observation, that most people become dissatisfied when outcomes don’t meet expectations but in many of those cases - expectations are often unrealistic.

That dose of Bisoprolol was too much for me to take daily as it brought my heart rate down to the low 40s! Hope it doesn’t do that for you. And after a while on 50mg of Flecainde twice daily when I still had episodes of AF requiring an extra 100mg to stop them, I was put on 100mg twice daily and that has worked very well at putting an end to episodes for me. Hope your dosage works successfully for you as we are all different.

Hi, I have been taking Flecainide for 2 years for multifocal PVCs and none sustained runs of VT, I take 100mg every 12 Hours which thankfully has worked great for me it’s been a life changer no side effects at all, I also take 10MG of Nebivalol. I did use to take Bisoprolol but that made me feel terrible brain fog and extreme tiredness. Me personally would ask to come off Bisoprolol and ask to go on Nebivalol because it’s a far more better cardio selective med so my ep told me. They only prescribed Flecainide if you have a healthy heart and they will or should check your QRS Complex when you have been taking them for a few weeks.

I had paroxysmal AF but the episodes kept getting closer together so we went to Flecainide 50mg twice a day after a nuclear stress test and echocardiogram to be sure my heart structures were good. Stopped AF altogether. That was almost 3 years ago. I also take a beta blocker 25 mg in am and 12.5 in pm. Last month had a dexiscan to check the structures again. All good. Staying the course and no AF. My EP said ablation is not the way to go for me if this is working. I am happy with this regimen. No need to worry if that’s the plan. When I had episodes it was always at night. I am comfortable knowing the meds work. ❤️
