Biatrial Dilatation

I had an echocardiogram 7 weeks ago. Have been waiting on results.Been to Doctors today for blood tests and I asked if my results were through. Low and behold they were there. With a copy to me. The letter says left ventricular size and function are normal and atrial fibrillation at a slightly rapid rate is noted. They did say in January that I had gone into persistent AF but there is no mention of that in results. It also says that there is biatrial dilatation. Can anyone explain for me. I am being put on rate control beta blockers.

thanks everyone.

I imagine that means dilatation of both the left atrium and the right atrium.

Perhaps that should be dilation?

I don't mind "dilatation" ... ongoing dilation is surely appropriate? 🤔
