I have been invited for a booster Covid jab. However I have seen that there is a connection between afib symptoms commencing after having a jab on a ,gov website. Has any one any experience of this?
Covid jab : I have been invited for a... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Covid jab
not seen it. have always had covid jabs when advised to/ when due -- no sweat. no problems, no symptoms/ side effects. I also drove buses ( still do ) all through covid. still driving buses.
Yes, chosen to have no further COVID vaccines. I’ve had confirmed 3 episodes of COVID and 1 suspect. Each bout has been less symptomatic and much quicker to recover and last bout - no AF!
Never affected me but covid can.
I've chosen not to have any further Covid jabs since last year. When I was in the Cardiac ward recently (with fast AF ) one of the nurses confided in me that she didn't have the jab either as it started AF/ palpitations with her . She is a healthy young woman. She mentioned that she knows of 3 others similarly affected.
My AF was diagnosed 3 days after the 4th jab. That was the last one for me.
I have seen that there is a connection between afib symptoms commencing after having a jab
There's also a connection between coming down with a bad case of Covid which triggers afib. All in all, I think I'll take a potential afib episode over a bad case of Covid, but that's just my opinion.
Jim
Doesn't even need to be a bad case. I had a relatively mild case (no anti-virals, no hospital or even doctor) and had an AF episode within a day of testing positive, followed by a spate of episodes in the following months before dropping back to "normal" frequency. I raised with my cardiologist at annual check up. He said it was quite common and sent me for cardiac MRI to ensure no damage to heart (scarring?), which was all clear.
I had B strain flu, was told that flu and covid can cause symptoms for patients but stopped short of saying that there is a direct Link
Yes, when I eventually caught Covid in March 2022 it wasn't too serious, probably because I had had all the suggested vaccine doses. However it did send my AF from paroxysmal to persistent and I ended up in a Covid positive ward because of my AF. My QOL for the next 6 months was very poor until the long-awaited Cryo-ablation took place.
Had 6 vax and 3 bouts of Covid which were just cold like no problems but like last year will avoid Spring booster and wait until autumn
Ive seen various reports, both confirming and refuting the claims. I dont know, Ive had 4 phizer vaccines. My AF has got worse. Is it that? No idea. All I can say with some certainty is that my government lied to us. . The whole thing stinks. Does it cause, affect AF? I dont know.
Had my first AF 9 days after my first COVID jab, had another exactly 9 days after my 3rd jab, no more jabs for me!
I have had all Covid jabs with no ill effects. The flu vaccine did trigger an episode. That said you have to balance on episode of AF which won’t kill you, with a bout of Covid or flu which could make you seriously ill. I know a few people who were laid out for a couple of weeks with flu this year and took a while to recover. So you have to balance the risks logically. If you have had a vaccine before with no ill effects, it will probably be ok this time as well.
I was diagnosed with AF in February and I am thinking maybe was a connection to having had the previous COVID jabs might be wrong but won't be having anymore
I have more confidence in this statement than anyone who has posted above: this thread will be closed for comments before the end of the day because we are not allowed to have these debates.
Its very, very naughty to express any negative opinions about the Covid vaccine.
Had 6th Covid vaccine about a month ago as I get ready for more summer travel along with flu shot. I believe in science and facts unlike certain politicians in the US.
I have had brief Afib for a few hours for many years seems totally unrelated to having vaccines.
In my view the risk of Covid is far greater and more serious than just Afib. Complications for the vaccine are very rare, although do occur. Worse is getting long-covid etc. I am age 77 and otherwise very healthy - fortunately.
I had booster last October and it caused myocarditis, I won’t be having any more!
Can you post the link to the .gov web site? I assume as it's an official US site the moderators won't mind.
No. Having lost two relatives to COVID, I'd rather risk a bout of AF against the deadly consequences of the other.
Actually if you really want to hear the truth about that "vaccine" topic, go to YouTube and listen to the testimony called Helsinki on Dr. John Campbell channel.
Dr John Campbell has a doctorate in Nursing, he is NOT a medical doctor.
He has regularly mis-used statistics, either through lack of statistical training or deliberately.
David Spiegelhalter, chair of Cambridge University's Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication, said that such use of the data seemed "entirely inappropriate"
You refer to this gentleman, right:
"Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter Tells BBC That Covid Infections Were Dropping Before Lockdown and He “Really, Really Regrets” Not Having Evidence Sooner That Closing Schools Was Pointless" quote from his BBC interview on Dec 6th, 2023.
Also Dr. Campbell never claimed that he is an MD, nor did I. Do you really think that only MDs know everything and do also everything correctly?
Dr. Campbell is IMHO an extremely humble and scientific oriented man, who himself made the transition from vaccine believer to informed person and is trying to convene various medical information to general public by citing well done studies and talking to experts. He is NOT distorting any data.
Lastly, it's not him giving the evidence and testimony I referred to.
First ever Astra Zeneca vaccine started my AF journey….within 4-5 hours of having the jab my heart was racing and erratic. Turned out to be AF and now I’m on Nebevilol & Flecanide for PAF. Had first three vaccines (still had problems /breathlesness/chest pain) haven’t had any Covid jab since. Rather take a chance with covid as the vaccine has definitely damaged my heart.
I had several jabs and have had COVID 3 times and my Afib has been non existent after any of these events. I chose not to have the one offered before Christmas because it does trigger my health anxiety, it was a gamble and I got COVID in feb , no symptoms in fact I would not have known I had it if I hadn’t of tested .
Haven't had any jabs from the 2020 beginning because of the risk of it waking up my AF as very helpfully advised back then by members here.
Read widely since on independent sites by experienced doctors worldwide, connected up the dots and won't be having any mRNA jabs.
Disappointed that our government doesn't acknowledge the apparent link to historically high level of jab injury, excess deaths and now turbo cancers that are occurring.
Oh well the truth always comes out eventually and I want to be able to answer my grandchildren's questions positively as to what I did about it.
no problem for me!
I have had all the vaccines available - think we are up to 7 jabs now and once this new one is offered to me I will have that one as well. When the first jabs came out I was still in NSR from a cardioversion and it had no effect on my AF at all. Since then I have gone back into AF and I don't know what it was that put me back in but after seeing some young members of my family hospitalised with Covid and my sister and 2 friends still getting severe problems from Long Covid I think I would rather have the jabs than get either Covid or suffer from Long Covid.
The jabs do not prevent either infection or long covid . Lots of people have had several jabs and still got covid several times. There are some studies that show that the more boosters you get the more likely you are to be infected and other studies showing that the jabs do not prevent long covid and indeed can worsen the symptoms in those who already have long covid. I think you are better boosting your immune system than messing it up with jabs that were never properly tested in the first place and for which there is still not sufficient long term data (3 years is not long term ).
i think it was covid started my Af and asked at the hospital whether to have vaccine and they said yes.
Not personally, but I know quite a few who have taken afib after jabs.
It is a personal choice and one each of us has to weigh up, unfortunately I had LFBB (left branch bundle block) about a week after 2nd Pfizer jab, which then started me withAF, never had heart problems before, at first all medics said nothing to do with jab, EP and GP now changed their minds and said this was probably cause but unfortunately can’t prove it. When had 7 day monitor on the person there said they had had lots of people heart problems after Covid vaccine. I react badly to vaccines, eg Astra zenica one as well, I won’t have anymore but my husband has them to try and protect me and has no side effects,
Your husband's decision is laudable but not properly informed. It has been known since summer 2021 when the first "breakthrough "infections occurred that they do not prevent transmission or infection. So any benefit of the jabs is only to the person having them - personally I do not believe there is any benefit now that the more virulent strains of the virus have disappeared . You would never have bothered with a vaccine for a bad cold in the past . People say "yes but still people are dying of covid" . Well vulnerable old people die of colds too. They get pneumonia .
I’ve just had my 4th ablation. Recovering well thank goodness. I’ve had all the Covid booster jabs on offer but I think I am going to pass on this one as maybe the previous booster accelerated my condition. Who knows!!! Rightly or wrongly, my decision is made.
Hi
I have had 6.
I had had a stroke with Rapid and persistent AF.
I drink water before and have a good breakfast then the jab I drink and eat banana after.
cheri JOy. 75. (NZ)
Yes my Afib started aftery last jab. Bit reluctant to have another.
yes apart from the very first time I have had more than 5 weeks afib/tachycardia each time and after my last vaccination I vowed not to have another one.
Yes, I had a raging AF episode following the last booster, went on for 36 hours. I am not having another.
I went back into persistent AF 6 days after my second Pfizer booster, having been in normal rhythm for over 3 1/2 years. Looking up research about it I found a study that said that new AF is not common after Covid vaccine, but that it's a bit more likely in the week following a second Pfizer booster - I don't know what the statistics are for a recurrence of AF. I'm back in normal rhythm again now, after a cardioversion 6 weeks ago.
I shall have to weigh up the pros and cons of further vaccines. Being vaccinated has been found to reduce the likelihood and severity of covid and long covid: covid can cause arrhythmias too, and also affect just about every organ in the body in the months and more after infection, so I may choose to have another vaccine.
I had the covid jab in December 21 by Christmas I was finding problems breathing by February in the GP about it by May in hospital with a pulse of 133-185 kept in for 5 days diagnosed AF
I'm having my next COVID jab in a fortnight. I don't want covid. COVID still causes some people to die. I've never had any side effects from COVID jabs.
After mu 5th booster I immediately developed an arrhythmia within 3 h ours, that lasted 3 weeks; undiagnosed because I couldn't get a holter monitor in time. 6 ,months later the arrhythmia started again with no apparent trigger. Hospital for 4 days and cardiac consultant's opinion was that it had been caused by the previous booster. It wasn't AF- I forget the e xact term used but I chose not to have any more.. Everyone's circumstances are different . I'm almost housebound so my risk is lower but it doesn't prevent someone bringing covid into my house. Same with flu. I don't have the flu jabs after a very bad reaction. You have to weigh up your own risk and make yoru own decision. If it helps, all my shots have been Pfizer. It was suggested I have a different brand but that wasn't possible.
Not afib.heart stopped for 6 seconds.drs said coincidence.dont think so.got pacemaker.last covid shot.no reaction..had almost passed out.
I personally won't have any more Covic vacs. I had Covid (the first type) in 2020, a terrible experience that set off two a-fib episodes, later necessitating an ablation 4 months later. Though I've had 3 jabs since, I'm a little wary of having any more now.
All fine here and with two friends. Covid itself can cause manifold more and worse problems than any vaccine will do.
That said, and only from what I’ve read (and that’s a lot as the conspiracy theory aspect fascinates me), if you’ve had a booster and had covid itself, you are well protected from the severe form.
Steve
This is just personal experience not medical advice. My spouse, 4 adult children, their spouses , 11 grandchildren and elderly fragile parents elected not to get vaccinated. Most got a Covid positive test at one time or another. No ill effects so far and no bad cases. A friend and a cousin both passed away suddenly 2 weeks after jab due to heart events. A sibling just got bad tachycardia after booster and has needed 2 ablations this year so far. My doctor advised against it for me due to having a severe reaction to flu shot years ago. This is just my personal experience,
After my second jab, I had immediate symptoms - no more. I had a month of shortness of breath and later on an immobilizing episode of AF. Ended up in the ER. Had to have a second ablation and according to my EP, mine are compllicated. I don't ever want to have another one. And I absolutely can't have another jab although I'm getting notifications to get it by email. Batches of the jab vary and there is a website to check on your batch number and what the stats are for it.
I refused my 5th jab. After my first, I was unwell for weeks and started with AFib which was only minimal. Second jab not too bad until the 4th when it really hit me. Now in permanent Afib plus damage to my arm from a poorly executed jab 2 years ago. Also other heart related issues and lung occurring when there was nothing before the jabs. As you can appreciate I am NOT having anymore covid vaccinations.
Only 21,000 subjects were tested for the Comirnaty pfizer release trial and that resulted in a pretty long side effects list on the 'package leaflet: information for user' sheet issued with the jab and those were just the 'short term' side effects. Seemed a bit rushed through.
So I'll just keep taking my chances, using my own defences.
Caught covid in '22 and it did put me in AF for two days but 1 dose Sotalol each time put me back in NSR after 40 minutes. Solid NSR ever since. No meds. Age 71.
Do not get anymore covid boosters!
