Covid Booster Vaccination

Hi

I had new and worrying heart issues after 2nd jab, decided not to have any more, but just been offered booster. Not sure what to do as maybe I'm sensitive to them.

Question: Is there anyone out there who had heart issues after being vaccinated but has nevertheless had their booster, and what was the outcome?

Thank you

Appreciate your concerns but I guess the only thing you can do is to compare what you went through with what the consequences might be with a greater exposure to Covid. I know a few who have now had the booster with little or no problems and that seems to be the general consensus on this forum.

No issues after first 2 Vaccines but plenty after COVID which landed me in A&E recently. Believe me any COVID really upset my heart and week 4 I am only just getting back on my feet. Sadly, my 3rd dose was booked for the week after I tested positive.

There is no doubt in my mind after watching the ZOE webinar yesterday - get the booster.

Sorry to hear that. We know lots who've had covid; vaxxed, unvaxxed and one dose only. That's why I wanted the booster but if it me affected like the jabs did, then it's a toss-up to be honest. But doubt I'll get a response from anyone who's had the actual experience, as probably/hopefully quite rare. But if you don't ask !!!

It is understandable to feel anxious, it's advisable to contact your doctor for their advice, as they will be able to discuss any specific concerns you may have on an individual basis.

I have paroxysmal AFIB and I got the two doses of Moderna, all went well, no heart issues. Yesterday, my wife and I received the Moderna booster shot - no heart irregularities or issues. However, the booster has given us flu-like symptoms. Chills, Felling feverish, achy body, headache and more. It kicked our butts...pretty miserable and this is the day after the shot. But again...no heart issues and I'll take these symptoms in lieu of getting Covid any day.

Symptoms of covid for healthy, fit people is usually very mild. Just keep that in mind.

Hi Cyrtis :-) I had a really bad reaction 6 hours after my second dose of AZ vaccine , it was a horrible experience which I reported using the yellow card scheme.

It didn't for one moment deter me from having my booster 2 weeks ago which resulted in a mild reaction.

Nothing would deter me from having the C19 vaccination . I have spoken to people who were not vaccinated and had Covid, they said on a scale of 1-10 for discomfort was 15 and they really thought they were dying.

I can't stand the thought of catching Covid and being on a ventilator struggling to breath staring at the ceiling and unable to move for days on end. A short lived reaction to vaccination is nothing in comparison.

I understand your concerns. It’s not an easy decision if you have reacted badly to the jabs is it.Unfortunately other people’s experiences won’t tell you how you as an individual will react as we are all physiologically different but l do understand why you are asking.l had a rough time after the AZ jab and as a consequence got a Pfizer second jab which didn’t affect me like the AZ did although l did get symptoms.I haven’t had a booster yet so can’t tell you how l will react to that but l expect l will react as l seem to be a covid jab reactor! All the rest of my family do not react at all.Sometimes life just isn’t fair!

I had a bad reaction after my second Pfizer jab that was reported by my GP. I understand it is possible and I am planning to ask for AZ as my booster since it works on a different basis.

I had high liver readings after AZ vaccine 6 months ago and ended up under care of hospital liver doctor. Now back to normal again and advised by liver doctor to take the booster as it’s a Pfizer . They are doing more blood tests in eight weeks to recheck my liver. I’ve been told covid is the worst of the two so I’m on my way for the booster in half an hour and 🤞🤞🤞.

Had a reaction after first AZ, palpitations which settled and swollen hot jab site 10 days later, fine on 2nd AZ but had Pfizer booster last Friday and spent time in bed at the weekend as I felt absolutely shattered. Fine on Monday.

I was diagnosed with AF in March last year, I was getting several episodes a week, thankfully not very fast. Got the first jab in January and then went 2 months without any AF and for 6 months only occasional. Now back to where it was. Coincidence; nothing to do with the jab.

I had to be cardioverted after dose one, I was fine after second, but cardioverted after flu jab last month but never had trouble with flu job before.I'm gonna check with the EP about the booster but I'm pretty sure he'll certainly say that Covid itself is worse than Covid jab....

Usually it is safe-which vax is it you got? there are different types, so I am curious. Why are some unlucky with the vaccines? One research says contaminates, another 1 possible factor affecting the safety of adenoviral vaccines is how they are administered nature.com/articles/d41586-...

Hi Cyrtis, Sorry that your having this worry on top of everything. I know the feeling. I am interested to hear what new heart symptoms you had after the 2nd jab. ☘️

in reply toEirecara

Hello, the clearest symptom was tachycardia. My resting heart was over 100 pretty well all the time. And sometimes, even with a slight exertion, like picking something not too heavy up, my heart would leap scarily into a very fast and powerful rhythm. I've never had either of these in my entire life.

The other symptom is harder to describe. When lying in bed, instead of hearing a normal beat, or even an arrhythmia in my ear on the pillow, my heart sounded like a rag, loose, soft, squidgy. And it would make noises, as I described to my EP, like a railway engine coming into the station with the wheels falling off. Total and utter chaos.

Having listened to other sufferers who have been diagnosed, it matches with Pericarditis or Myocarditis.

Mine was different. The second jab caused me to have frequent PVCs. 16 per minute. It could have liked me like it has millions of others. My shoulders still don’t work properly. Decades of sports and weightlifting never damaged my shoulders but the vaccines did.

Thank you ☘️

in reply toEirecara

I forgot breathlessness which I never get either, even with AF.

My shots were indeed separated by about 12 weeks. It was the AZ vaccine and only the 2nd jab affected me. And of course this could be just a coincidence, but to to honest, that would be very unlikely as all my symptoms were utterly new to me and very clear.

The idea to test for antibodies is a great one. Indeed why have a jab at all if your antibodies are high? I'm having antibody test done shortly at The Nuffield, hopefully, haven't booked it yet. I know antibodies aren't all that go into immunity but hope it'll tell me something. Then I'll take it from there.

Thank you.

" VAERS reports indicate that there may have been as many as 220,000 killed and 2 .2 million injured by the vaccines so far. "

Could you provide a link to this information please. My search of the VAERS data base does not find it.

tedafib profile image
tedafib in reply torc-k

There is a reason GeorgeGlass is not producing a link. Here's the link though.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc...

But instead of the 220,000 killed, the actual number is 9,143 after 414 million doses administered. And that is reported deaths following a vaccine. The cause of the death and the initial health of the individual was not stated. So you would still need to investigate cause and effect rather then both events occurring in close proximity in time to exclude those that would have died of other causes. Using the word "killed" implies a link that does not exist. But some of the uneducated like the attention by making things up.

I've had two Moderna and just this week the Moderna booster. My paroximal AF actually seems better following the jabs.

What you say about VAERS reports has been fact-checked by Reuters and has been found to be untrue.

too much disinformation out there. some for political reasons, others for ??? reasons. Our electronic age has exaggerated the possibility of these misleading posting. Bottom line is always research several reputable sites to validate anything you read.

I had two pfizer and then the booster was Moderna and no problems at all with any of them. Do you know if the booster being offered to you is the same as the two vaccinations you had before? This may make a difference?

GeorgeGlass profile image
GeorgeGlass in reply toDesanthony

Studies and adverse effects show that equally large numbers were damaged or killed by both mrna vaccines, after taking into consideration that nor have received Pfizer than moderna.

in reply toDesanthony

My original shots were both AZ.

I believe but not 100% sure, that the booster being offered is Pfizer. And I think it's a half-dose. I'm going to check this out.

Desanthony profile image
Desanthony in reply to

Yes I believe they are half doses for the boosters. Some health authorities are giving the same vaccines and others are giving a different vaccine. It just depends on which authority you are under. I also believe that some very high risk groups are being given a third dose - ie not a booster but a full third dose.

in reply toDesanthony

Thanks for that. I will check this out. My gut reaction is I won't accept a full dose because if I had a repeat it could be a real problem.

I personally know a few people who have had serious complications from Covid-19 infection, but I don’t personally know anyone who has had a serious complication from a Covid-19 vaccine.

That’s not to say vaccine-related complications don’t exist, but my own observations suggest that Covid-19 infection is more of a risk than the vaccine.

How about you? Putting aside what you’ve read and what you believe and just thinking about people you know of personally. How many of these people have had serious problems from the disease and how many have had serious problems from the vaccine?

in reply to

Based on personal experience with family and friends, no-one's had a serious problem with covid, unpleasant but no serious problems.

The worst problem within our circle has been me and the vaccine. Hence me trying to get an answer from someone who's been in the same situation and gone on to have the booster.

It's difficult. I may end up tossing a coin to decide 🙄

I had AF episodes after both my Astra Zeneca jabs but have been fine after receiving the Pfizer as a booster jab. X

Thank you.

Do you know whether booster was a half dose?

Did you have A Fib before you had the Astra Zeneca jabs ?

in reply toBramley66

Yes, I've had AFib for decades. It's controlled by drugs well, it doesn't bother me. The AFib didn't change after jab, just got tachycardia as an addition.

It was a full dose. It is the Moderna that is being given in a half dose. X
