Had to change from Apixaban to Edoxapan due to severe reaction of itching all over the body, it was really bad. The Edoxapan is much better, but still get the occasional real itches on back and legs . but they gave me E45 anti itch cream that REALLY works well and often stops after a few minutes after first application. This is different to the normal E45 cream , it is entitled E45 ANTI ITCH CREAM so don't confuse the two ok .
You can get this as a repeat prescription item if you are a suffer also
Thought I would share this

Thanks for your reply. My husband has had an horrendous itchy rash for 2 weeks.he has taken Apixaban for 3 years with no problems. Dr prescribed steroid tablets for 5 days. Rash has gone but itching remains. E 45 anti itch could be the answer!
Hope it helps It really worked for me If you can get with a script that’s even better Ring around the chemists though as it can be quite hard to source Let me know how he gets on Regards
I have had trouble with my skin for the last 2 years and was told recently that it is because I am taking Apixaban. Evidently it thins the skin. I have been happy on Apixaban but now considering changing, is it worth going across to other medications or do they have similar side effects.?
Ask for a review concerning Epixaban Edoxiban is a good alternative (it was for me ) and the issues dropped within Two days .I still get the odd itch hence using the cream, but nothing near what I was experiencing when taking EpixaBan
Thanks you for that. I first suffered with hives after the flu jab. They don't admit to it but after the second jab I realised that did it. I have a lot of allergies and intolerances and usually try to get an egg white free jab but ha ha to that as far as the NHS goes Now I take a third of a cetirizine hydrochloride tablet when it's driving me mad usually every 4-5 days. I am interested in your E45 antiitch cream and will take it up with my GP.
I had severe itching and a rash with edoxaban and was switched to apixaban and it stopped. ..now just suffering with bad stomach issues as i a leady have gastritis ......the joys of life!
Thank you for sharing this great advice on the Forum. It is not unknown that on occasions anticoagulants may cause skin irritation, so it is important to not ignore such symptoms and seek medical advice immediately.
It is imperative skin lotion and sunscreen should be worn to protect you.
I can identify with itchy scalp. I have also developed crepey, droopy skin and I've been wondering if it's the Apixaban. Interesting that it thins the skin. Our skin thins as we age anyway so we don't need this. Meds have adverse effects and I would take a lower dose if I could.
Does anyone know if it has a dehydrating effect? I can't find anything about that online.
